Zofran 8 mg – 10 Tablets
Active Ingredient: Ondansetron 8 mg
Therapeutic Class: Antiemetic – 5-HT₃ Receptor Antagonist
Indications: Zofran is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.
Mechanism of Action: Ondansetron blocks serotonin (5-HT₃) receptors in the brain and gastrointestinal tract, reducing the signals that trigger nausea and vomiting.
Dosage and Administration: The typical adult dose is 8 mg taken 30 minutes before chemotherapy, with a second 8 mg dose 8–12 hours later. Dosage may vary based on medical condition and doctor's instructions.
