Unifed Expectorant contains three potent active ingredients: Triprolidine HCL is an antihistamine used to block a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction to relieve allergy symptoms like sneezing and a runny nose. Pseudoephedrine is a nasal decongestant that works by causing narrowing of the blood vessels in the nasal passages to relieve nasal congestion caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. Guaifenesin is in a class of medications called expectorants. It works by thinning the mucus in the air passages to make it easier to cough up the mucus and clear the airways.
