Active Ingredient:

Atorvastatin Calcium 10 mg

Therapeutic Class:

Lipid-Lowering Agent – HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitor (Statin)

Indications:

ROZTOR is indicated for:

Reducing elevated total cholesterol, LDL-C, ApoB, and triglycerides

Increasing HDL-C in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, or familial hypercholesterolemia

Cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, and a family history of heart disease

Atorvastatin works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis in the liver.

Dosage and Administration:

The recommended starting dose is 10 mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted at intervals of at least 4 weeks, up to a maximum of 80 mg/day. It can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food.

Warnings and Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with liver disease or alcohol use

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding

Monitor liver function tests and creatine kinase levels when clinically indicated

Side Effects:

Common side effects include headache, muscle pain, joint pain, nausea, and digestive discomfort. Serious but rare side effects include liver dysfunction and rhabdomyolysis.
