• Properly wash and dry your hands with soap.
• Clean the pricking area with an alcohol rub. Apply alcohol on a cotton bud and stroke it over your pricking finger.
• Assemble the device, inserting a new lancet into the lancing device.
• Set a new strip into the glucometer. Read the manual for proper insertion.
• Switch on the glucometer after setup.
• Prick your finger with the lancing device, ideally in a less sensitive area.
• Squeeze blood from the prick point, but not too hard.
• Apply the blood sample to the strip attached to your glucometer.
• Make sure the device is on before applying the sample.
• Wait a few seconds and take note of your glucose reading.
