Description:
Livial is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medicine used by postmenopausal women. It contains Tibolone, a synthetic steroid with estrogenic, progestogenic, and androgenic properties. It is primarily prescribed to relieve menopausal symptoms and to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
Indications:
Relief of menopausal symptoms such as:
Hot flushes.
Night sweats.
Vaginal dryness.
Decreased libido.
Mood swings.
Prevention of osteoporosis in women at high risk of fractures who cannot tolerate or are not suitable for other osteoporosis treatments.
Dosage and Administration:
Take one tablet (2.5 mg) once daily, at the same time each day.
Should not be started until at least 12 months after the last natural menstrual period.
Warnings and Precautions:
Not to be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Contraindicated in women with a history of breast cancer, blood clots, liver disease, or unexplained vaginal bleeding.
Medical assessment is essential before starting therapy, especially in women with cardiovascular risk factors or elevated blood pressure.
