LERCADIP is indicated for:
Treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension
May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, particularly ACE inhibitors or diuretics
Lercanidipine is a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that selectively inhibits calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle. This leads to vasodilation and a reduction in blood pressure without significant effects on heart rate or myocardial contractility.
Initial dose: 10 mg once daily
May be increased to 20 mg once daily depending on patient response and tolerance
Should be taken at least 15 minutes before a meal, preferably at the same time each day
Not recommended in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment
Use with caution in patients with left ventricular dysfunction, aortic stenosis, or hepatic/renal impairment
Avoid grapefruit juice during treatment, as it may increase drug levels
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
Common: headache, dizziness, flushing, palpitations, ankle edema
Less common: fatigue, nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, rash
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
