Description:
GLIM 1mg contains glimepiride, a medication used to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the sulfonylurea class and works by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin.
Indications:
Used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and weight control are not sufficient to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
Dosage and Administration:
Starting dose: 1 mg once daily, taken with breakfast or the first main meal.
The dose may be gradually increased depending on blood glucose response, up to a maximum of 8 mg per day.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
Warnings and Precautions:
Not recommended for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
Risk of hypoglycemia, especially when used with other antidiabetic medications.
Monitor blood glucose levels regularly.
