AMLO 5 mg Tablets (30 tablets)
Active Ingredient: Amlodipine Besilate equivalent to 5 mg Amlodipine
Therapeutic Class: Calcium Channel Blocker (CCB)
Dosage Form: Oral tablet
AMLO is indicated for the treatment of:
Hypertension (high blood pressure) – helps lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications
Chronic stable angina – reduces the frequency and severity of chest pain
Vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's angina)
Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. This results in vasodilation, decreased peripheral resistance, and reduced blood pressure. It also increases blood supply to the heart muscle, relieving angina.
