NORVASC 5 mg Capsules (30s)
Active Ingredient: Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to 5 mg Amlodipine
Therapeutic Class: Calcium Channel Blocker (Dihydropyridine)
Dosage Form: Oral capsule
NORVASC is indicated for the treatment of:
Hypertension (high blood pressure) – helps lower blood pressure to reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks
Chronic stable angina – to reduce chest pain frequency and improve exercise tolerance

Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and myocardial cells, leading to peripheral arterial vasodilation and a decrease in blood pressure. In angina, it reduces oxygen demand and improves blood flow to the heart.
