Gracial 22 Tablets – Biphasic Oral Contraceptive
Description:
Gracial is a combined oral contraceptive containing Desogestrel and Ethinylestradiol. It follows a biphasic regimen with 22 tablets per pack: 7 blue tablets followed by 15 white tablets.
Composition:
Blue tablets (Days 1–7): contain a lower hormone dose.
White tablets (Days 8–22): contain a higher dose.
How to Use:
Take one tablet daily at the same time each day.
Start with the 7 blue tablets, followed by 15 white tablets.
After completing all 22 tablets, take a 6-day break before starting the next pack.
Mode of Action:
Inhibits ovulation.
Thickens cervical mucus to hinder sperm movement.
Alters the uterine lining to prevent implantation.
Possible Side Effects:
Headache, nausea, mood changes, breast tenderness, and weight fluctuation.
Rarely: blood clots, elevated blood pressure, liver complications.
Contraindications:
Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.
History of thromboembolic events, liver disease, or breast cancer.
Warnings:
Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
