Furosemide is used to treat water buildup in your body (edema) due to problems with your heart, kidneys, liver, or blood vessels. It also lowers your blood pressure.
Do not take Furosemide
• If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.
• If you’re allergic to sulfonamides or sulfonylureas such as sulfadiazine, co-trimoxazole.
• If you have kidney failure.
• If you have severe liver problems.
• If you have low blood pressure.
• If you are dehydrated.
• If you are not passing any urine.
• If you have low levels of sodium or potassium in your blood.
• If you have an illness called Addison's disease.
• If you are taking other medicines which change the amount of potassium in your blood.
