CARDURA 1 mg Tablets (20 Tablets)
Active Ingredient: Doxazosin Mesylate 1 mg

Alpha-1 Adrenergic Receptor Blocker
Dosage Form: Oral Tablet
CARDURA is indicated for the treatment of:
Hypertension: Used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): To relieve urinary outflow obstruction and symptoms associated with enlarged prostate in men
Doxazosin selectively blocks postsynaptic alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in vascular smooth muscle and the prostate. This results in:

BPH: Start with 1 mg once daily; dose may be titrated

First dose may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure ("first-dose effect") — take at bedtime initially to reduce risk
